BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Battery Ventures, een wereldwijde, op technologie gerichte beleggingsonderneming, heeft aangekondigd dat het ifp Institut für Produktqualität GmbH (Institute for Product Quality GmbH, of ifp), een leverancier van analytische test- en analysediensten voor klanten over de voedings-, diervoeder-, farmaceutische en watersector. De voorwaarden zijn niet bekendgemaakt.

Het bedrijf, opgericht in 2004 en gevestigd in Berlijn, heeft een sterke reputatie opgebouwd door zijn focus op gespecialiseerde testen op voedselallergenen, ziekteverwekkers, vitamines en pesticiden. Naast het leveren van analytische laboratoriumdiensten, produceert ifp diagnostische testkits voor de detectie van vitamines, voedselallergenen, pathogenen, GGO’s en andere stoffen.

Battery Ventures Acquires German Provider of Analysis and Testing Services Focused on Food, Feed, Pharmaceutical and Water Safety

Investment in ifp Institut für Produktqualität GmbH will allow company to expand business outside of Germany, grow through acquisitions

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Battery Ventures, a global, technology-focused investment firm, announced it has acquired ifp Institut für Produktqualität GmbH (Institute for Product Quality GmbH, or ifp), a provider of analytical testing and analysis services for customers across the food, feed, pharmaceutical and water sectors. Terms were not disclosed.

The company, founded in 2004 and based in Berlin, has earned a strong reputation for its focus on specialized testing for food allergens, pathogens, vitamins, and pesticides. In addition to providing analytical laboratory services, ifp manufactures diagnostic test kits for detection of vitamins, food allergens, pathogens, GMOs and other substances.

The company will continue to be led by its Managing Directors Dr. Wolfgang Weber and Carolin Poweleit, with Dr. Weber, the company’s founder, retaining an ownership stake in the business.
