LBC Tank Terminals tekent overeenkomst met MEGlobal Americas, Inc. over bouw nieuwe terminal in Freeport, Texas

MECHELEN, België–(BUSINESS WIRE)– LBC maakt met blijdschap bekend definitieve overeenkomsten te hebben gesloten met MEGlobal Americas, Inc. De afspraken hebben betrekking op het design, de techniek, bouw en exploitatie van een nieuwe terminal. Deze terminal wordt naast de fabriek voor mono-ethyleenglycol van MEGlobal gebouwd en via een pijpleiding verbonden. De terminal zal op land van  MEGlobal Americas staan en worden geleased aan LBC Freeport Terminal LLC.  De verwerkingsfabriek wordt zestig mijl ten zuiden van Houston gebouwd op het terrein Oyster Creek van MEGGlobal in de Texaanse plaats Freeport.

LBC Freeport wordt een integraal onderdeel van de distributieketen van MEGlobal, veiliggesteld door middel van een langetermijncontract en pijpleiding. De belangrijkste producten die daar worden behandeld zijn mono-ethyleenglycol en di-ethyleenglycol. Na het verkrijgen van de noodzakelijke wettelijke toestemming, begonnen de bouwwerkzaamheden in augustus 2017. De terminal is volgens planning in 2019 operationeel.

 

 

LBC Tank Terminals Signs Agreement with MEGlobal Americas, Inc. to Construct a New Terminal in Freeport, Texas

MECHELEN, Belgium–(BUSINESS WIRE)– LBC is pleased to announce that agreements have been finalized with MEGlobal Americas, Inc. for the design, engineering, construction, and operation of a new terminal. This terminal will be constructed adjacent to MEGlobal’s world-scale monoethylene glycol (MEG) manufacturing plant and connected by pipeline. The terminal will be located on property owned by MEGlobal Americas and leased to LBC Freeport Terminal LLC. The process plant is to be constructed 60 miles south of Houston at MEGlobal’s new Oyster Creek site in Freeport, Texas.

LBC Freeport will be an integrated part of MEGlobal’s Supply Chain, secured through a long-term contract and pipeline connection. The main products to be handled are monoethylene glycol and diethylene glycol. Upon receipt of the necessary regulatory permits the construction commenced in August 2017 and the terminal is planned to be operational during 2019.
