MobileIron Recognized by Gartner for Critical Capabilities for Unified Endpoint Management Tools

MobileIron was ranked within the five highest scores in all four of the use cases identified by Gartner

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– MobileIron (NASDAQ:MOBL), the company that introduced the industry’s first mobile-centric, zero trust platform for the enterprise, today announced that Gartner, Inc., the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry, has recognized MobileIron in its 2019 Critical Capabilities for Unified Endpoint Management Tools report.

The report examined the capabilities of 13 vendors to meet the needs of organizations in four distinct use cases: PC management, nontraditional device management, highly secure and regulated industries, and unmanaged devices/BYO. MobileIron received the fourth highest product score for the PC management and highly secure and regulated industries use cases, and the fifth highest product score for the nontraditional device management and unmanaged devices/BYO use cases.

“We believe this recognition, combined with our recent placement in the Leaders quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Endpoint Management Tools, validates our mobile-centric zero trust approach to security,” said Brian Foster, SVP of Product Management, MobileIron. “We have continued to innovate and expand upon our UEM platform to deliver extensive security and identity capabilities. Earlier this year, we introduced a revolutionary zero sign-on experience to eliminate passwords from the enterprise. We are committed to meeting the unique challenges and needs our customers face every day, including those in highly secure and regulated industries.”

The Critical Capabilities for Unified Endpoint Management Tools report, published Oct. 10, 2019, stated, “Vertical industries with prescriptive compliance and information-protection requirements demand specific security capabilities of a UEM tool that not all vendors can meet, while some excel in these areas.” Client management tools, modern management of windows, secure access and identity, companion UEM technologies, management of wearables/nonstandard, management of macOS, management of workplace IoT, and mobile content management were identified as the critical capabilities definition.

MobileIron believes it excelled in the highly secure and regulated industries use case because it provides the visibility and IT controls needed to secure, manage and monitor every device, user, app, and network being used to access business data. MobileIron protects company data wherever it travels, and helps users comply with company security policies and local regulations. Organizations can also build upon MobileIron’s UEM platform with zero sign-on (ZSO) user and device authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and mobile threat defense (MTD) technologies.

MobileIron was named a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Endpoint Management Tools. Additionally, MobileIron was named an April 2019 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Unified Endpoint Management Tools. In a Gartner Peer Insights review, an application manager in the government industry noted that MobileIron is “making big steps in the UEM experience for our end users. They are thinking with us and not for us.”

About MobileIron

MobileIron is redefining enterprise security with the industry’s first mobile-centric, zero trust platform built on the foundation of unified endpoint management (UEM) to secure access and protect data across the perimeter-less enterprise. Zero trust assumes that bad actors are already in the network and secure access is determined by a “never trust, always verify” approach. MobileIron goes beyond identity management and gateway approaches by utilizing a more comprehensive set of attributes before granting access. A mobile-centric, zero trust approach validates the device, establishes user context, checks app authorization, verifies the network, and detects and remediates threats before granting secure access to a device or user.

The MobileIron security platform is built on the foundation of award-winning and industry-leading unified endpoint management (UEM) capabilities with additional zero trust-enabling technologies, including zero sign-on (ZSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and mobile threat defense (MTD). Over 19,000 customers, including the world’s largest financial institutions, intelligence agencies and other highly regulated companies, have chosen MobileIron to enable a seamless and secure user experience by ensuring only authorized users, devices, apps, and services can access business resources.
