Diabetes Center Bern lanceert zijn eerste open innovatie-uitdaging en ondersteunt de meest veelbelovende ideeën die zijn ingediend met coaching, expertise en in totaal 200.000 USD aan financiering

Vandaag lijdt 1 op 11 volwassenen wereldwijd aan diabetes. Volgens de Internationale Diabetes Federatie zal het aantal mensen met diabetes met meer dan 50% toenemen tot 700 miljoen mensen wereldwijd in 2045.

BERN, Zwitserland-(BUSINESS WIRE)-De afgelopen jaren heeft de diabetestechnologie enorme vooruitgang geboekt in het verbeteren van het leven van mensen die met diabetes leven. Er is echter nog steeds een grote onvervulde behoefte aan innovatieve technologische oplossingen die helpen de last van diabetes te verlichten en het leven van mensen die diabetes hebben te verbeteren. Een van deze onvervulde behoeften is een betere glucosemeting. Mensen met diabetes vragen om glucosemethoden die handiger, minder invasief en betaalbaarder zijn. Vandaar dat Diabetes Center Bern (DCB) deze uitdaging aangaat.

Diabetes Center Berne Launches Its First Open Innovation Challenge and Supports the Most Promising Ideas Submitted With Coaching, Expertise and a Total of 200,000 USD in Funding

Today, 1 in 11 adults globally suffers from diabetes. According to the International Diabetes Federation, the number of people living with diabetes will increase by over 50% to 700 million people worldwide by 2045.

BERNE, Switzerland–(BUSINESS WIRE)– In the last few years, diabetes technology has made enormous progress in improving the lives of people living with diabetes. However, there is still a great unmet need for innovative technology solutions that help ease the burden of diabetes and improve the lives of people who have it. One of these unmet needs is better glucose measurement. People with diabetes are asking for methods of glucose measurement that are more convenient, less invasive and more affordable. Hence why Diabetes Center Berne (DCB) is setting this challenge.

Whether you are a start-up, a healthcare professional, a researcher or an individual, if you have an idea or insight into how to improve the lives of people living with diabetes, DCB wants to hear from you!

The Diabetes Center Berne Foundation is a private, independent Swiss foundation, established in 2017. It helps research projects and entrepreneurial ideas to grow. Based in Switzerland, Diabetes Center Berne provides projects around the world with expertise, access to clinical research facilities and its own laboratories and workspaces, as well as financial resources.
