De eerste 5nm generatie AI Chip ter wereld uitgerold – TeraPixel Technologies, Inc.
YOKOHAMA, Japan-(BUSINESS WIRE)-TeraPixel Technologies Inc. (vertegenwoordiger: Naoki Kawahara) heeft op 8 maart 2019 de “Extrixa Processor” als eerste dieplerende AI-product op de markt gebracht als eerste chip ter wereld die TSMC 5nm gebruikt.
Wafer uitgerust met ASIC, geïmplementeerd in ‘s werelds meest geavanceerde procesimplementatie, wordt op 25 augustus uitgerold en zal naar verwachting begin september beschikbaar zijn na het testen van de assemblage.
Dit 5nm-proces zal worden gebruikt om de kernprestaties en het stroomverbruik te controleren, aangezien de SRAM-cellen nog niet voorbereid waren op het moment van de uitrol in maart.
In het eerste kwartaal van 2020 zullen we de tweede versie met dezelfde functies als de productversie met SRAM en andere functionele blokken uitrollen.

Wafer equipped with ASIC implemented in the world’s most advanced process rolls out on August 25 and is scheduled to be available in early September after assembly testing.
This 5nm process will be used to check the core performance and power consumption since SRAM cells were not yet prepared at the time of tape-out in March.
In the first quarter of 2020, we will tape out the second version with the same functions as the product version with SRAM and other functional blocks.
TeraPixel has R & D technology for massively parallel processors with many cores, aiming for the world’s highest level of computing performance versus power consumption.
Targeting to commercialize AI product in 2021.
