DUBAI, Verenigde Arabische Emiraten–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Op Wereldvluchtelingendag kondigt Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, zakenman en filantroop uit de Emiraten, de Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, een nieuw initiatief ter waarde van 100 miljoen AED die 5.000 kinderen en jongeren zal helpen in drie jaar.
Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair zei: “Ik heb dit fonds opgericht, omdat ik geloof dat filantropen een rol hebben in het helpen adresseren van een van de meest acute uitdagingen in onze regio: gebrek aan onderwijsmogelijkheden voor de jonge mensen die het het meest nodig hebben.”
Het Fonds verleent subsidies ter ondersteuning van programma’s voor middelbaar, beroeps- en tertiair onderwijs voor vluchtelingenjongeren in Jordanië en Libanon. Het zal ook kinderen ondersteunen uit families die door oorlog en ziektes uit hun thuisland zijn vertrokken naar de VAE, maar die de schoolkosten niet kunnen betalen. De eerste ronde beurzen zullen aangekondigd worden voor de start van het nieuwe schooljaar.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates–(BUSINESS WIRE)– On World Refugee Day, Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Emirati businessman and philanthropist, announced the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, a new 100M AED initiative to benefit 5,000 children and youth over 3 years.

Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair said: “I established this fund because I believe that philanthropists have a role in helping to address one of the most acute challenges of our region: lack of education opportunities for young people who need it the most.”
The Fund will award grants to support secondary, vocational and tertiary education programs for refugee youth in Jordan and Lebanon. It will also support children of families who due to wars and disasters in their home countries, temporarily reside in the UAE but are unable to afford school fees. The first round of grants will be announced prior to the start of the new school year.
