LAHTI, Finland–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Viking Malt heeft samen met Cinia Solutions Oy en zijn Duitse ERP-provider Point Informationsverarbeitung und Consulting GmbH het eerste elektronische platform voor graanhandel in Finland opgezet. Barbin, zoals het platform heet, wordt vanaf september geleidelijk in gebruik genomen voor betere communicatie en automatisering van graanhandelsactiviteiten tussen landbouwers en Viking Malt. Barbin maakt het mogelijk contracten over graan en prijsvaststellingen voor huidige en komende oogsten elektronisch af te sluiten. Het systeem functioneert als communicatiemiddel en levert informatie over analyseresultaten, invoerplanning en geleverde volumes door de gecontracteerde landbouwers. Bevestigingen van contractafsluitingen en graanprijzen verschijnen direct op de mobiele telefoons van de landbouwers. Door deze moderne communicatiemiddelen te introduceren, stroomlijnt Viking Malt de informatiestroom naar gecontracteerde landbouwers en loopt zodoende voorop in moderne graanhandel in Finland. The platform is called Barbin and it will be taken into use gradually from the first of September to improve communication and automize the grain trade activities between farmers and Viking Malt. With the Barbin e-platform, grain growing contracts and price fixations for current and coming crop years can be made electronically. The system also functions as a communication channel and transmits information on analysis results, intake planning and delivered volumes between grain purchasing and the contract farmers. The contract confirmations and grain price offers are directly sent to farmers’ mobile phones. Through the introduction of these modern communication tools, Viking Malt streamlines the information flow with their contract farmers and becomes a forerunner of modern grain trade practices in Finland. The next step will be to introduce Barbin into the other Viking Malt countries. By digitalization of grain trade practices, Viking Malt aims to improve the efficiency of the Finnish malting barley supply chain and to be the most reliable and agile partner for the malting barley farmers also in the future.
