World Organization of Governance & Competitiveness gelanceerd tijdens 71e Algemene Vergadering van Verenigde Naties

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Gedurende de 71e Algemene Vergadering van de Verenigde Naties waren premier van Bangladesh, hare excellentie sjeika Hasina Wajed, staatshoofden, VN-medewerkers, ambassadeurs, beroemdheden, vertegenwoordigers van het bedrijfsleven en honderden gasten aanwezig bij een receptie in United Nations Plaza voor de lancering van de World Organization of Governance & Competitiveness, ter ere van het eenjarige bestaan van de VN-Doelstellingen voor Duurzame ontwikkeling.

WOGC is een gemengde internationale organisatie (IGO, non-gouvernementele organisatie en overheidsinstantie) met een speciale status voor advies in het kader van de VN-Duurzaamheidsdoelen en de Trifinio-verdragsovereenkomst (El Salvador, Guatemala en Honduras). WOGC richt zich op de implementatie van de duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen, verbeterde bestuursvormen en een grotere concurrentiekracht in ontwikkelingslanden. Sheikh Hasina, Heads of State & Government, UN Officials, Ambassadors, celebrities, private sector and hundreds of guests attended a High level Reception for the launch of the World Organization of Governance & Competitiveness at United Nations Plaza honoring the First Anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

WOGC is a mixed International Organization (IGO, NGO and Government) with special consultative status under the framework of the UNSDGs and the Trifinio Treaty Agreement (El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras). The WOGC mission focuses on implementing SDGs, improving governance and enhancing competitiveness in developing countries through capacity building, sharing of best practices & promotion of public-private partnership.

ICT Affairs Advisor of Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed, received a WOGC Award for his commitment and outstanding leadership with “Digital Bangladesh Initiative” as tool in boosting development in Bangladesh.

Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs for Guatemala, Anamaria Dieguez Arevalo emphasized global competitiveness as improving economic growth and sustainable development for Central America and appreciation for WOGC initiatives in Trifinio.

Executive National Director of Plan Trifinio El Salvador, Mr. Sergio Bran, who received a WOGC Award for SD and Integration of the Trifinio region, noted the importance of global competitiveness and capacity building to assist local communities improving living conditions.

Evening included Global Fashion for Development art showcase, performances by Grammy Award Winning Violinist Miri Ben-Ari, acclaimed Actor Robert Davi with Musical Director, Robin DiMaggio.
