AMSTERDAM–(BUSINESS WIRE)– SoftAtHome (stand 5A51), a software provider for operator CPE devices enabling convergent services for the digital home, will showcase for the first time outside France Orange’s New Livebox, powered by SoftAtHome’s SOP7 software.

SoftAtHome’s SOP7 software solution delivers advanced features such as live Ultra HD and on-demand content, operator-branded local network storage, 2,4GHz and 5GHz concurrent Wi-Fi support, advanced video security mechanisms amongst other leading-edge technologies.

Thanks to SOP7, the New Livebox can deliver Ultra HD programs with next generation audio, apps and digital home services, as well as extended Wi-Fi, the latest security features, a plug and play NAS server, and over 300 games. Installation is as simple as an SMS for this plug-and-play device.

SoftAtHome also played the role of integrator for Orange set-top box and gateway, for a seamless user experience. For the New Livebox, SoftAtHome enabled the latest high-performance Wi-Fi (combining the IEEE 802.11n and 802.11ac Wi-Fi technologies) and guaranteed the best possible quality of service throughout the house, with a total throughput up to 1.9 Gbps. Users can easily optimize Wi-Fi performance with an intuitive tool which ensures that they get optimum performance at every corner of the home.

“We are proud of our New Livebox, which is playing a major role in our Essential 2020 ambition to bring unmatched experience and richer connectivity to our subscribers,” said Mari-Noëlle Jégo-Laveissière, Senior Executive Vice President for Innovation, Marketing and Technologies at Orange. “SoftAtHome has contributed its technology, agility and expertise, supporting Orange’s teams in future-proofing our New Livebox and bringing it right to the cutting-edge in terms of performance, advanced functionality and ease of use.”

“SoftAtHome’s focus was on enabling Orange to bring an unmatched user experience with best-of-breed features, including Internet of Things and Ultra HD,” said Michel Degland, CEO of SoftAtHome. “Orange needed a gateway and set-top box that could provide unrivalled user experience based on speed, security, service breadth, and video quality. We are delighted to have contributed to this success and to showcase it in Amsterdam.”
