ERCOM treedt toe tot Telecom Infra Project
PARIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– ERCOM kondigt vandaag aan dat het bedrijft deelneemt aan het Telecom Infra Project (TIP) geleid door Intel, Facebook, DT, SK Telecom en Nokia. ERCOM sluit zich aan bij deze grote operators, apparatuurfabrikanten en softwareleveranciers van de telecom-industrie om de volgende miljard mensen toegang tot het internet te kunnen bieden.
TIP is een ict-technisch initiatief voor de infrastructuur van een nieuw telecom netwerk dat afwijkt van de huidige netwerken. Door de toename van het internetgebruik, de groeiende hoeveelheid data die verwerkt moet worden en door de opkomst van online video en virtual reality is het een vereiste dat bedrijven samenwerken aan de ontwikkeling van nieuwe technologieën.
We moeten de inzet van bestaande technologieën heroverwegen en ons focussen op eenvoud, flexibiliteit en effiency in alles wat we doen. Tip gaat zich op de volgende pijlers richten: access, backhaul en core en management. De deelnemers aan het project zetten allemaal hun expertise in. ERCOM biedt specialistische kennis over de manier waarop een netwerk testen, inzetten, managen en beveiligen. Die kennis brengen we mee in het projectteam.
