At the Oil & Gas Polymer Engineering Texas 2016 conference held in June, Burak Bekisli, Ph.D., Greene, Tweed’s Engineering Supervisor for Product Development and Testing, told audiences that Arlon ® 3000 XT has been proven to have electrical resistivity 100 times greater than PEEK and 30 times greater than PEK at 400˚F and above. At room temperature, Arlon ® 3000 XT has extended capabilities above 20kV. Arlon ® 3000 XT’s excellent electrical properties combined with its extrusion resistance make it an ideal candidate for a variety of applications including insulators, back-up rings and electrical connectors.

Already considered the best-in-class solution for high pressure, high temperature environments, Arlon® 3000 XT has consistently shown superior electrical properties in the 400 to 500˚ F range and high voltages up to 5kV when compared to conventional PEEK and PEK, a capacity that will give it broad applicability in crucial components across a range of industries. With its improved dielectric breakdown resistance over PEEK and PEK solutions, Arlon ® 3000 XT’s utility to mission-critical applications in a host of new markets, including the aerospace and semiconductor industries, has been expanded.

Arlon ® 3000 XT is the first commercially available cross-linked PEEK and has the best high temperature-high voltage performance of any polyketone. Arlon ® 3000 XT is being rapidly adopted by global Oilfield companies, where its patented technology is without peer in its ability to withstand harsh environments, ensuring optimal and reliable operational performance for customers.
