Bouwen aan een duurzame en veilige toekomst voor de bevolking en instituties van Afrika

MARRAKESH, Morocco–(BUSINESS WIRE)– In Noord- West- en Centraal-Afrika neemt de bereidheid van denktanks samen te werken aan oplossingen voor gedeelde problemen, zoals die op economisch, maatschappelijke en ecologisch vlak, toe.

In samenwerking met het Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program van de University of Pennsylvania en de Economische commissie voor Afrika van de Verenigde Naties organiseert OCP Policy Center van 2 tot 4 mei 2016 in Marrakesh de derde African Think Tank Conference, met als thema  “Building a Sustainable and Secure Future for the People and Institutions of Africa”. Meer dan zeventig denktanks uit veertig landen zijn uitgenodigd voor gesprekken over hun rol bij de oriëntatie van beleidsmakers, de oprichting van efficiënte instituties en een veilige toekomst voor de inwoners van Noord-, West- en Centraal-Afrika.

In partnership with the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, OCP Policy Center will host on May 2-4, 2016 in Marrakesh the 3 rd African Think Tank conference under the theme “Building a Sustainable and Secure Future for the People and Institutions of Africa” More than 70 Think Tanks from over 40 countries are invited to discuss the role they could play in order to best orient policy makers, build more efficient institutions, and secure future for the people of North, West, and, Central Africa.

The Conference will cover areas such as the implementation of development objectives, climate change and preparations for COP22, and ongoing efforts to introduce Africa’s Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA). It will also continue to improve the relationships between African think tanks and further strengthen the linkage between think tanks and policy makers.
