Westinghouse vergroot met BEACON veiligheid Oekraïense kerncentrales
PITTSBURGH–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Westinghouse Electric Company heeft vandaag bekendgemaakt dat het een contract met National Nuclear Energy Generating Company (NNEGC) – Energoatom heeft ondertekend, waarmee het een licentie afgeeft voor het gebruik van zijn BEACON™ Core Monitoring System in Reactor 5 van de kerncentrale Zaporizhia. Deze stap diversificeert de toevoer van kernbrandstof en aanverwante materialen naar Oekraïne. BEACON wordt met succes toegepast in reactor 3 van de Kerncentrale Zuid-Oekraïne. BEACON is successfully being used at South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3. Expanding the use to the Zaporizhia nuclear plant demonstrates Energoatom’s confidence in the software to calculate the detailed power distribution for the reactor core in real time using input from plant instrumentation.
