Canhegat to Launch Animal Nutrition And Welfare Pendant at CES 2016

ALBI, France–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Canhegat, a France-based engineering and design company that creates connected monitoring devices for household pets, will debut its new featured product, Canhe-Fit, at the CES 2016, January 6-9 in Las Vegas. An award winner at the Silica IoT (Internet of Things) Contest for their Canhe-Fit concept, app and service, Canhegat will introduce a collar-attached animal pendant that monitors pet nutrition and welfare.

Under the direction of co-founders CEO Nicolas Loiseau and CTO Yohan Vigier, Canhe-Fit was created to allow pet owners to track their dogs’ and cats’ food intake, exercise and energy expenditure based on their breed, age and weight in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle and general well-being. Combined with the pet’s historical data, day-to-day tracking statistics can be followed through the Canhegat mobile app available through the Apple Store and Google Play. Additionally, the app functions as a GPS, deploying social localization to allow the pet owner to easily locate their missing dog or cat.

The multi-purpose Canhe-Fit smart pendent is available in various styles and colors. Loiseau and Vigier have devised this product to track the pet’s activity and consumption using an accelerometer to analyze movement, a microcontroller for measurement analysis, a 24-hour memory data storage node, quartz for synchronizing data over time, and a Bluetooth module to transmit the data to the owner’s mobile device. Canhe-Fit’s analysis of movement and measurement are calculated using an algorithm with a file containing the energy intake of more than 700 food formulas available in the market, coupled with the calculation of daily energy expenditure.

Now in its final stages of beta testing and development, the Canhe-Fit is expected to hit the marketplace in the United States and Europe by September 2016.

Canhegat will exhibit at the Eureka Park Marketplace at CES in Hall G, Booth #80840 at the Sands Expo Center. Company spokespersons and staff will demonstrate the product first-hand. Canhegat will also exhibit at CES Unveiled on Monday, January 4, from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m. at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in the North Convention Center South Pacific Ballroom.
