Telephonics Corporation verhoogt belang in joint venture Mahindra

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Mahindra Defence Systems en Telephonics Corporation hebben vandaag bekendgemaakt dat Telephonics zijn deelname in vermogen en resultaat in de joint venture Mahindra Telephonics Integrated Systems (MTIS) heeft verhoogd van 26 procent naar 49 procent. Telephonics is de eerste Amerikaanse aannemer uit de defensie- en luchtvaartsector die de Indian Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) heeft goedgekeurd als investeerder met een belang van 49 procent in een Indiaas defensiebedrijf .

De in 2013 geopende productie- en ontwikkelingsfaciliteit van MTIS staat in Prithla, ten zuiden van de Indiase hoofdstad New Delhi. Na het opzetten van de vestiging en het werven en opleiden van personeel produceert MTIS nu vliegende weerradars en communicatiebenodigdheden. De joint venture, de eerste entiteit van zijn soort in de private sector van India, ondersteunt het initiatief Make in India van de Indiase overheid.

Telephonics Corporation Increases Equity Stake in Mahindra Telephonics from 26% to 49%

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Mahindra Defence Systems, a Mahindra Group Company, and Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that Telephonics has increased its equity interest in their Joint Venture (JV), Mahindra Telephonics Integrated Systems (MTIS), from 26% to 49%. Telephonics is the first U.S. defence and aerospace contractor to receive approval from the Indian Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to increase its stake in an Indian defence company to 49%.

MTIS established its manufacturing and development facility in Prithla, south of New Delhi, India, in December 2013. After an initial set-up, recruitment and employee training period, MTIS now manufactures airborne weather radars and communication equipment. The JV, the first private sector entity of its kind in India, is supporting the “Make in India” initiative of the Indian Government.
