LACHEN, Zwitserland –(BUSINESS WIRE)– Octapharma AG investeert 80 miljoen euro voor een exclusieve wereldwijde licentie voor de recombinant-technologie van Glycotope en om minderheidsaandeelhouder te worden van Glycotope GmbH Berlin.
Glycotope is een wereldwijde leider in glycobiologie en ontwikkelt nieuwe en gepatenteerde biofarmaceutica met geoptimaliseerde en volledig menselijke glycosyleringstructuren alsook zeer specifieke antilichamen tegen glyco-epitopen op kankercellen. Naast de investering wil Glycotope in opdracht van Octapharma een reeks onderzoeksprojecten naar de overdracht van technologie en de versnelde ontwikkeling van bepaalde therapeutische eiwitten mogelijk maken.

Glycotope is a global leader in Glycobiology and is developing new and proprietary biopharmaceuticals with optimized and fully human glycosylation structures as well as highly specific antibodies against glyco-epitopes on cancer cells.
In addition to this investment Glycotope will be commissioned by Octapharma to a series of research and development projects that enable the technology transfer and accelerated development of certain therapeutic proteins.
